***Blurb***

Rafe Kenyon is all man…and all wolf. He’s a shifter and a Texas good ole boy.

And who would have thought the two would mix? But, it works for him. As far as he knows, he’s one of a kind. By day he makes knives, works as a hunting guide and makes nice with the town folk. By night, he runs the piney woods of East Texas as a huge timber wolf - the best of both worlds. The only problem is: Rafe is alone, he has no mate. He loves women, he loves sex, but he can never get too involved. No one can know his secret. Until…it is a secret no more.

Karoline Durand comes to town to study and authenticate the wolf sightings in a place where no wolves are supposed to exist. She meets a sexy wolf of another sort when Rafe spots her in a club and lets out a wolf call of appreciation. Instant, insane attraction. Sparks fly as their sexual energy combusts like a volcanic explosion.

But soon Karoline is not the only one hunting the wolf. Rumors fly and the woods are full of hunters – all intent on bagging Rafe. His world is closing in on him and soon he learns who he can trust and the true meaning of love and home.

She stopped him with a raised hand. “It’s okay, Rafe, you don’t have to say anything. We both knew this was...just for fun.”

Dammit! He went around the bed to her, put a finger under her chin and lifted her beautiful face so she was gazing into his eyes. “This wasn’t just fun, it was absolutely incredible. You’re incredible. I don’t regret it for a moment and I will never forget it.”

Karoline stared at him. That was the most beautiful brush-off she’d ever heard. “I won’t forget it either.” The man had given her the best sex of her life, of course she wouldn’t be forgetting it.

“Let me get my keys, I’ll drive you,” she stated, reaching for her purse

“No, you stay here where it’s safe. I don’t mind the walk, it’ll do me good.”

A nice guy. She set her bag down. “Well, okay.” She held out her hand. “It’s been real, Rafe.” She teased.

He pulled her to him for one final, sweet kiss. “The most real thing I’ve felt in a long, long time.”

And then he was gone.

Karoline sat down on the bed and felt bereft. “Shoot.” She kicked at the carpet. Oh well, at least it would be something to remember when she was living out in the wilderness with her wolf pack.

She sighed, rose and went to take a shower. When she was through, she ordered room service and consoled herself with a BLT and a coke. The hour was late, so she lay in the bed and let an old movie play, feeling more alone than ever.
