Sheri Savill is CRAZY (and she knows it)

Sheri Savill Is A Crazy Woman Who Writes BDSM Erotica

Hi everyone.
The big juicy secret about me is that I actually have a background in traditional journalism and publishing, but only recently decided to write BDSM erotica and have now self-published a debut release (Owning Julia) on Amazon.  Oh. And also, I’m a real-life submissive. And I do web development. And I’m a very private person. Hey wait, is all this going out over the internet or something?

Yeah, so, I was in publishing and media-related stuff (editor, writer, reporter, graphics person; for newspapers, mags, radio; did freelance writing too) for years.  You see what it did to me.
But all those years, I wrote non-fiction articles and … humor, not fiction. And certainly not erotic kinky-as-hell fiction. Then I had a vanilla website for a long time, where I wrote about daily bullshit, rants, anything I felt like writing. And people seemed to like it. What I call my Legion of Fan™ [sic] would periodically clamor for MOAR blog posts from me, to my great surprise, so I would ignore them and treat them very badly. They liked it. And now, ten years later the Legion of Fan™ is still pestering me for MOAR blog posts and I can’t tell them I’m writing smut because, well, I’m sort of embarrassed about it, even though my mom knows I’m writing smut and heartily approves. In fact, her exact words were, “That’s great honey! Smut? That’s great.” You wish you had my mom.

So now I write kinky BDSM erotica, and I do mean kinky. And the reviews have been encouraging! My favorite review so far was the 3-star one that said, “Just sex.” Honestly that is the best review ever for an erotica e-book. I have this crackpot theory that bdsm-erotica is, somehow, about sex, and that review just nailed it.

I have a doctorate in something that’s about as far away from erotic fiction writing as you can get. I won’t tell you what subject because I like to be super mysterious and elusive when I am not all over the internet and social media and making new websites for myself and talking about myself and blurting uber-personal shit about myself every five minutes.

When I write erotica, I try to write what I think is “hot.” Actually I spell the word “hawt.”  Because I was a professional editor, I can do things like that. My erotica contains some real experiences, or at least parts of them, that I’ve had as a real-life submissive. You’ll just have to read my books to try to figure out which experiences are real and which are total fantasy.  Teaser! Evil! Thank you!
Let’s see, what else? My erotica tends to be edgier and darker than what some may like and that’s fine. No judging. Just mock silently, like I do. Really, I’m the first to admit that my books are not everyone’s cuppa tea. But if you like some darker and heavier stuff, you might like my debut release, Owning Julia. See how smoothly I worked in a plug? (Heh heh heh I said “worked in a plug.”)
My next release is called Marked for Submission, due out in March. The new story takes place in a tattoo shop and the main character is a submissive woman named Janna. She likes the tattoo artist guy and they do kinky things together one night in his shop while he tattoos her. And when I say “she likes him,” you know what I mean there, don’t you? This is BDSM erotica, baby! Whips and chains. Bring out the gimp!

OK, just kidding about the gimp. There’s nothing at all like that in the new book. But really, please don’t be afraid to explore a little of the darker erotica stuff if you haven’t already, you sneaky thing you.  I mean, if “50 Shades” is your gateway drug, then sooner or later you will end up craving some of the harder stuff.  Oh yes, you can quit anytime. I know. Tap-tap-tapping on the inside of the crook of your elbow trying to find a vein.

I invite you to sink to my level. No one has to know! Thanks to the miracle of e-publishing, you can read whatever the hell you like on your “portable electronic devices” and, if you put on a pair of tortoise-shell reading glasses and let them slip down the bridge of your nose and then look disapprovingly at people every now and then over the top of the glasses as you read, people will assume that you’re reading white papers and think tank pieces on public policy. They don’t know you’re reading a smutty little story about a woman who is strapped to a table and tattooed and fucked silly by a hawt hunky tattooed guy.  Every now and then you should say, thoughtfully, “Hm, indeed” aloud as you read.  Maybe grab a sticky note and jot “This is fucking HAWT!” on it and people will think you’re deep into your “policy” piece. Not that I do things like this.

Oh! As part of my efforts to cement my reputation as an elusive, mysterious, inscrutable new erotica author, I just started a new group blog with a couple of great erotica writers who will hire lawyers as soon as they see their names mentioned here with mine, but I’m going to do it anyway. Truly, they are both great writers and friends (well, they were, anyway) and not nearly as butthead-y as I am. Their names are Trent Evans and Natasha Knight.  Check them out. Oh if only there was a way to search for things on the internet, you could find these two and read about them and buy their books!
So. The new group blog is called Romancing the Kink and, as I said it’s under construction (sorry, there’s no little manhole cover graphic with a guy in a hardhat digging). But we’ll be posting and excerpting and having discussions and stuff over there soon, if we haven’t already. We have some cool ideas for making the site fun and worth a little of your time.  For one thing, I like to write humor and I believe humor and BDSM-erotica go together like oil and vinegar, like pastrami and mayo.  So expect to see some way off-base ham-handed humor attempts over there. Here is the link to the new group blog: http://www.romancingthekink.com.

Thanks for reading this far, unless you just skipped down here to the end looking for a “TL:DR” tag, in which case, you’re totally my kind of person.  I hope you now have a sense of what a total wingnut I am and that you will think of me and my books next time you are looking for something that is pretty much “just sex.”  If you want to read something with a good plot, detailed character development, romance, a complex multi-layered structure, and well-thought-out themes, I can’t do better than to recommend Gone With The Wind.  Or something by my friends Trent and Natasha. They write superbly well, and both have, I dunno, “plots” and stuff like that in their books. Weird. I mean, to each his own, right?

Vanilla-Flavored Alpha Males

by Candace Blevins

As someone who only enjoys BDSM, and not vanilla sex, the male heroes in most mainstream fiction do nothing for me. There are some exceptions -- Curran from the Kate Daniels series, Roarke from the In Death series, several of the alpha males in the Psy-Changelings series, and Vlad in Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress / Night Prince series. Actually, there are a whole lot of vampires who get my blood pumping, but since most of them feed when they have sex – tying pain into sex –- this shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Roarke and Eve may not have a power exchange relationship, but they’re both very powerful – at times one chooses to let the other lead, while at times one of them forces the issue and leads whether the other likes it or not; not too often, but they both have a temper, and they’re both used to being in control. Best of all, both enjoy rough sex, where Roarke occasionally comes out with an Irish "You'll take what I give you, then," as he takes her.

As for Kate and Curran... both are powerful as well. I think sometimes Kate scares Curran with what she can do with magic, but this is balanced out when he has to rescue her and then see she’s put back together again. It's also a bit of a see-saw with them as to who will call which shots and who’ll take the back seat. Or, maybe with this couple it's more tug-of-war than see-saw. It works, though, and I find myself fascinated by Curran in so many ways.

Nalini Singh’s alpha males in the Psy-Changelings series are the perfect mix of caretaker and bossy alpha Dom. Best of all, her women are just as strong, but in a different way. Come to think of it, the women are strong in all of the series I like best. Guess it’s no surprise I enjoy writing strong women who submit to even stronger men, right?

The Art of Surrender (w/ Excerpt)

NEW SURRENDER EROTIC ROMANCE

by KAYLA STONOR

I thought I’d tell you about my new e-book and share a small excerpt. It’s a work in progress so the cover and title – Raise or Fold – are working versions, but the cover adds a bit of colour! Part of the Surrender Series, this book is shaping into a 70,000+ word novel due for release in spring. As expected with this collection of stories, it is not your usual romantic story. The plot is very different from my previous books, although initially it might not seem that way.

Set in the UK, Major Brandon Hunt, ex Royal Marine, has taken over his late father’s publishing business and is busy removing all erotica from its ‘bookshelves’, putting him in direct conflict with his father’s young widow who is actively involved in running the business. She recruits friend and former editor, Keira MacDonald, to change his mind. Keira is now a successful erotica author whose books are also being dropped. She is also a Domme with a sadistic kink who actively practices in the BDSM scene.  Sparks fly when she confronts Brandon over his new policy, and the fact that he hasn’t even read the books he’s removing from circulation.

Their relationship continues its fractious start when Keira manipulates Brandon into a weekend getaway as her ‘slave’. She delights in tormenting him with her overt sadist dominant ways. The weekend does not go according to plan and when Keira’s life is threatened Brandon finds himself increasingly immersed in her world. As events spiral out of control, Keira turns on him and his cautious steps toward a more intimate relationship with her rapidly devolve into disgust and hate.

I am thrilled to have a lot of beta help with this story. It’s an intricate plot walking a fine line between romance and psychological drama, and I am taking on board advice to keep the story from veering off the path to love. The conflict over Brandon’s carte-blanche removal of erotica is a key thread of the story, but the real story is the motives behind his decision, and the dynamics of a love affair where sexual tastes are close to being incompatible.

It is a journey to understanding, trust, and love that is full of twists and turns, turmoil and intrigue. There is sexual tension, hot sex, and dark BDSM play that edges into torture and abuse as an ever present threat of tragedy reaches crisis point.  A subtle twist adds a surprise element that will explain much as the story heads to its conclusion by when I hope readers will have come to love both hero and heroine.

I hope you enjoy this small excerpt.

Excerpt from RAISE OR FOLD
(working title)

Brandon tossed and turned. To add insult to injury, Keira slept soundly beside him—naked—silk pyjamas nowhere to be seen. He stared at the ceiling, his throbbing cock seemingly determined to make him suffer for the lurid thoughts invading his mind. He flung himself over for the hundredth time and encountered a pair of glowing jewels that pierced the gloom.

His breath caught in his throat.

Keira stared at him avidly and when her tongue flickered across her lips he felt like she was devouring him alive. He followed its progress, fascinated as her lips turned moist and glossy under the moonlight filtering between the slightly parted curtains. He had tasted those lips before and the memory stirred a hunger that needed to be sated. He rose onto his elbow and dipped his head down. She returned his kiss with enthusiasm and fingers explored the back of his neck and teased his hair. He lifted high above her and, when his cock brushed her outer leg, lust blew his reservations out the door.

‘I swore I wouldn’t do this,’ he whispered.

‘I thought I’d lost my touch,’ Keira murmured in his ear.

‘Have you got a condom?’ He’d be amazed if she didn’t.

‘Top drawer . . .  your side.’

He rolled back, opened the drawer and felt around. It took him just seconds to open the packet and roll the rubber on. His fingers trailed down her belly and traced the contours of her hip down to her leg. Her breath caught, her back arched. He could smell her excitement. He changed direction, moving steadily towards the nectar he knew would be waiting. He groaned as his fingers slipped inside her. She was so wet. He teased her folds apart, searching for her special spot that would send her wild. He found the pert nub and flicked it with his nail.

Her response was aggressive.

She surged up towards him and her mouth locked onto his. Their tongues tangled and he was only dimly aware of one hand stealing down his back and over his hip until she captured his wrist. He stilled as she pulled his hand from inside her, thinking he must have hurt her in some way. When she twisted his arm behind him he broke their kiss and drew back, but his withdrawal only caused her to tighten her grip, trapping his hand in the small of his back. He could not withdraw further without conflict.

‘Keira . . .’

‘If we do this, I’m in charge.’ Her tone was uncompromising.

Brandon hung his head and emitted a groan of sheer frustration. Every nerve in his body demanded satisfaction. His dick had gone dark side on him. His treacherous body rested on one hand and his knee between her thighs.

‘I can’t force you,’ she whispered. ‘This is still your choice.’

His head rebelled. His body grew more insistent. He wanted to take her. To sink his body into hers and relieve the tension that had been building in him since the moment she called out her opening bid. The memory tightened the coil of desire in his loins, increasing his urge to take her, to make her submit to him, except he wouldn’t force her either.

‘How far do you want to go?’ he asked.

‘Light bondage.’

His stomach began to quietly creep away from him. He was resting on his nerve-damaged arm and it trembled under his weight. Keira’s free hand reached under him and stroked his hairless balls. Shivers ran up and down his spine. His cock jerked and his hips thrust towards her.

‘Not fair,’ he gasped.

‘I won’t hurt you. I promise you will love it.’

‘Are you Sadist or Dominant?’

‘Both.’

‘Which does this satisfy?’

‘The sadist in me enjoys your reluctance, your discomfort. Your body craves satisfaction, but the price of submission is too high.’ She squirmed beneath him and Brandon’s cock swelled to see how turned on she was by his predicament. ‘The dominant side of me loves the thought of your submission. You are so used to being in control, and you know what it is like to lose control. The consequences will haunt you to your dying day and the thought of voluntarily giving it up goes against every fibre of your being. It is a fight between desire and sanity. Do you trust me enough to steer you safely to the other side? Do you trust yourself enough to let go? Sex is a beautiful act of giving. Your submission will take it to another dimension.’

Brandon’s head was spinning. His arm was on the verge of collapse. Her fingers stroking his balls were driving him to distraction. He tested the strength of her grip on his wrist and realised she wasn’t going to let him go so easily. His body stood on the edge of a precipice and the need to make a decision panicked him.

‘Let me go.’
