pearls' review

Orphaned at the age of 4 and raised to be a spy, Corbin is the best there is. But when he is left for dead and his friends enslaved and tortured, he turns to his mentor's daughter for help. She's the one person on his "Do Not Touch" list, but even the disappointment of his mentor can't stop him from falling for her as they work to uncover the villains and save their friends and family. Evie is wonderfully snarky and sardonic, who saves the men more often then they save her. Her resentment over the time her father spent with team of boys clouds her judgment until she is up close and personal with the playboy Corbin himself. Together, these two make a great team. They play a great round of bad cop-worse cop in the interrogation room, they sift through the clues and strategize with one focus. It is in the bedroom where they make an even greater team. I loved that these two are equals in this relationship. I enjoyed the quips of internal dialogue as well as the bantering challenge between the two. While the bad guy was spelled out early, there was still plenty of mystery to figure out. A quick read with constant action and very distinct characters.
