Lucky Stars Box Set
Hi!
The Lucky Stars Box Set contains “Seven sexy Sci Fi and
Paranormal romance short stories from some of the hottest names in romance.” We
thought you’d like a bit of background for how we came up with our stories, and
so we oblige…
Louisa
Bacio, author of LUCKY CHARMS, has this to say about her story… “I completely blame
Kim & Solera, who put out the call with the March 17 release date. I
thought, "Yeah, what would they want, a leprechaun romance?" And then
I came up with my opening line. It all flowed from there.”
Here’s Kim Carmichael’s insight for MADE
FOR LOVE: “I
was inspired by what someone who had a lot of emotion could do, if coupled with
someone who never learned emotion.”
Solera Winters has this to say about THE
LAST DATE: “The Last
Date" was inspired by Kim Carmichael’s book Eternity. Back when she wrote
her story I started thinking of a cupid story too. After all, the Greek gods
were my main interest. When I started doing some research, I ran across Anteros,
who definitely intrigued me. I wrote an opening (the part about him avenging an
unrequited lover) and put it aside while I worked on other things. When the
Lucky Stars Box Set came up, I thought of that story again, and thought it
could work as a short. I was one of those women who waited a long time to find
love, and while I never had a certain number of dates, I could relate to
Vikki's issues. I was delighted Vikki Godwin and Tony Anteros found their
happily ever after.”
My story, THORNE’S ROSE, was inspired by a
Grimm’s fairy tale called “The Rose.” I took the story, shook it out and
twisted it so; rather than the character dying when the rose bloomed, a
prize-winning rose bush, one that hadn’t bloomed in a hundred years, wouldn’t
bloom until two long-dead lovers were reunited. Hollister and Emmalee have to
reverse a curse her ancestor put upon his family, in order for them to achieve
their own happy ever after.
Erzabet Bishop says this about her story,
TAMING THE BEAST: “It was inspired by my love of fairy tales and the need to
bring the modern woman into a place where the tales related to her. BBW (Big,
beautiful women) are often overlooked in romance and I wanted the chance to
show that we are people too. We love, play with dogs, have fun and can handle
anything a wicked witch can throw at us. Especially when it involves the people
and animals we love. I hope you enjoy my Beauty and the Beast meets the
Bachelor tale and you never know...this one could just very possibly grow from
a novella to a novel.”
And
we’re on to Fred T. Kerns’ story, MISSION TO BELLATRIX.
Now, Fred has been in seclusion the past couple of days, working hard on
his next book, so here’s a brief blurb… “Kolya Mason, a young adventurer with a badly scarred face, has been
hitchhiking on starships for several years. Now, she boards a ship leaving
Terran-controlled space for the first time, joining a science team
investigating the reappearance of a long-lost spacecraft. She's accompanied by
a gorgeous young man who insists on tagging along ... but what's he up to? Is
he genuinely attracted to her, or does he have some other agenda?” This book
features several characters first introduced in GAME OVER. Fred is also looking
to expand this story into a full length novel.
And last but not
least, we come to the Bad Boy of Romance himself, Sascha Illyvich.
Here’s what he has to say… "The inspiration for SUBMIT TO HIM came from a bratty submissive I once
owned, who really believed she was unlovable.
A BBW, though she found herself unattractive, her Prince saw the beauty
in her and told her to start changing her outlook by changing what she
wore. I was lingerie shopping for myself
one night and convinced her to look at some stuff online. Her natural curiosity got the best of her and
she ended up getting a red lace boyshort and bra set. Yet she needed more, a real hard lesson in
what a gift her submissive tendencies were, so I wrote her into the Reinhold
series and gave her what she wanted; to be treated like an adult and forced to
deal with real world problems, including her own, by adulting.”
This project has
been an absolute blast to participate in, and I hope you’ll give us a try.
