Praise for Under My Skin...
Review by Inner Goddess' TinkNCognito
Under My Skin is the final book in the Steele series set in the Stark World and it didn't disappoint! Don't read this review if you haven't read the first two books as it will contain spoilers! We pick up where the last book left off - with Jackson being a suspect in Reed's murder. Sure he has reason to do it but he can't be the only person who wanted Reed dead! Sylvia stands by him, whether he did it or not because she loves him and it's about time someone stood up for her! With the publicity of Jackson's altercations with Reed, the Cortez project begins to look like it may be in jeopardy. And when the property is vandalized, can their Cortez dreams become a reality? With the possibility of prison, and Jackson's pending arrest, he begins to pull away for Sylvia. It is a fight she is willing to take on, she can't allow Jackson to put distance between them. But with Jackson's daughter in the picture, she must truly begin to face her own demons. Her fear of motherhood, fear of failing Jackson and his daughter almost paralyze her. But she finds a strength she never knew she had, that she doesn't have to be defined by her past. She is stronger than that. There were many twists and turns as we discover the truth behind Reed's murder and the sabotage of the Cortez project. The ending seemed a bit abrupt to me, almost like Ms. Kenner ran out of pages but I really liked the Epilogue. Overall, I enjoyed the story tremendously and as always I loved catching pieces of Damian and Nikki throughout.. I just can't get enough of the Stark world. This is a 4 kiss read for me!
“Please watch your step as you exit this emotional roller coaster into pure bliss. Julie has taken us on a trip of emotional highs and lows, through plot twist after twist. I'm pretty sure there was boomerang action in there too. But the trip was worth the rush and tears. I am standing back in line and ready to go again.” Hilary S, Bookaliscious Babes Blog
“It was drama filled, heartbreaking, sexy, and full of second chances. I think I held my breath the last 25% with my hand covering my mouth because I was so riveted by what was happening. I think this series is J. Kenner’s best work to date. The Stark International Trilogy is a must read! ” Gretchen, About That Story
"WOW!!! I'm kinda speechless....wow! That was an awesome conclusion to the Jackson and Syl story. I didn't want it to end but I had to know what happened. Another gripping story from an awesome author. It's hot, sweet, sexy, and raw. I laughed, cried, screamed and melted." Kel Bookworm via Goodreads |
