Guest Post: Launching a New Series

Hi everyone and a big thanks to Pearl for having me today! It’s an exciting week for me as I had a new book out on Tuesday (July 12). An Affair in Winter is not only my 60th book release but it also launches a brand new series for me, Seasons.

Creating a new series is always exciting for me and this time especially. First, I’m coming off of a very long set of two series which were totally tied. The Notorious Flynns and The Wicked Woodleys were bridged by A MARQUIS FOR MARY, which came out last May. So wrapping up that set of series was both sad and very exciting. I got to tackle a new group of people!

And what people they were. I’ve had the Seasons series in my head since mid-2014, even before I made the decision to go fully indie. Gray and Rosalinde and their heated first night together when they don’t know the other’s identity was a scene that kept whispering to me.

Finally, now it’s here and that a thrill. Equally exciting is that this is a new series for me. A fresh start. It’s the perfect place for readers who are new to me or want to jump in to erotic historical/historical romance to dip their toe. No previous books to wonder about, no connections to other characters or stories, you’re just off and running with two passionate characters who are about to launch their two families on a collision course.

I hope you’ll enjoy it! Do you have a favorite series? Are you excited when an author starts a new one?

Book Blurb

Widow Rosalinde Wilde is on her way to her beloved sister’s wedding when an unexpected storm waylays her at an overcrowded inn. There she meets a tempting stranger who sweeps her into a night of unforgettable passion.

Grayson Danford never expected a night with the irresistible Mrs. Wilde, but she was a welcome distraction from the unpleasant duty of breaking up his brother’s impending nuptials.  He’s shocked when he discovers his passionate lover is none other than the sister of his brother’s intended.

Now Rosalinde and Gray will butt heads, even as their simmering desire for each other threatens to boil over. Who will win? And who might lose it all?

Jess Michaels has returned with an awesome new series.  I'm already counting down to the next book.  The Season series starts with An Affair in Winter, a historical romance set in the English country side. As a winter snowstorm strands two travelers in an inn, they fall in love during a stolen moment in time.  When their paths cross later, they begin to second guess everything they thought they knew.  Pitted against one another, while their siblings bumble along to an ill-fated marriage.  But even a freezing snowstorm can't match the heat that is found between Gray and Rosalinde, and they can't stay away from another.  A cast that includes a benevolent Earl, a termagant grandfather, orphaned sisters and more reveal their secrets and heartbreaks, along with their dreams.  A wonderful read!
