Few places make a better setting for paranormals succumbing to sin than Las Vegas. As the devil's bounty hunters, it is the collectors job to bring in these lost souls. But when Claude is pulled out of retirement for an especially hard job, she realizes that all is not as it appears in this city of illusion. What appears to be an open and shut case is actually a bit more complicated. She sets out to find the truth, knowing that getting involved will complicate things with her boss. What she doesn't expect are the complicated feelings she developed for her mark, Jason. The length of the novella is perfectly paced for their short investigation and courtship, taking us up to and past the sentencing. We see both points of view and watch as both first admire and then grow to love one another. They make a perfect team. It was a perfect afternoon read.
