do you want to do on our last night?” I asked John. I lay down on the bed
beside him, and he put his arm around me and asked me to stay.
“I
can’t. I wish I could, but I have to go home. I hardly have any money and I
need to earn some. And I miss my family and friends.”
“I
want to go with you. You know that, right?”
“I’d
like you to fly across the Atlantic. Soon we’ll be together again.”
“Is
that a promise?” He looked intently into my eyes.
“How
come I’m making all the promises? What are you promising me?”
John
